I was a
competitive bicycle racer
when I began receiving
massage, with two goals in mind. Increasing energy during racing
season was one (along with getting to the podium a couple of times),
and getting relief from migraine headaches was
the other. Both goals were attained with regularly scheduled
massage.
That was over fifteen years ago. These days, I like to think that
the migraines were caused by being on the wrong career path (look at
this site, haha!), but I realize that had I not been a computer
programmer I might never have had the migraines that led me to
experience the power of massage firsthand.
I have attended a couple of schools with well-known leaders, and
although I'd hate to choose between having dinner with Father Ted
Hesburgh or Sister Rosalind Gefre, I think Rosalind would be my
choice. She likes to run her fingers through my hair! (Now I'm
going straight to hell.) I received my
massage training at Sister
Rosalind
Gefre's
School of Massage in West St Paul, and began my own practice in
2003.
I have since received national certification, and continue to enhance
my services with continuing education. Not too long ago, I
attended a
week long course taught by James
Waslaski. James is known for his multidisciplinary approach
to pain free movement, and is considered a unifying force in the health
care industry.
I live across the St. Croix river from Osceola Wisconsin, and
enjoy being a part of the community. Doing chair massage at the
local baseball games (Massage is half price when the Braves are
winning!) is a true privilege for me. I like meeting new people
and
introducing them to the benefits of massage with a simple yet skillful
backrub. This is the best way to catch me in person, since I'm
usually in a session, or out on my bicycle exploring the wonderful
scenery of the St Croix river valley.
An introvert by nature, I
think I was cut out specifically for massage, since I don't feel the
need to sustain idle chit chat during your massage session. I am
a good listener though, so if you'd like to vent a little during your
session, please feel free to do so! You can check out Facebook or
my blog for a
better
insight into my personality, or view my guestbook to
see what others have to say.
